The Summit Civitans and RHA teamed up for a Summer Food Drive. They have been providing food for needy families  (with I/DD ) at Thanksgiving and Christmas for several years.  This year they realized the need was great and pulled together a tremendous  amount of food for The Arc  of Rowan to distribute to needy families this summer.  The food donations have included many chickens to give away. Canned food and bottled water was included. Pictured is the unloading of the van full of food to The Arc of Rowan office.  

Thank you to our Community Guides for helping distribute the food to families that could use some extra help during these hot days of summer.

At the Arc State Convention happening this weekend (9/23/2011) in Concord, NC, The Arc of Pitt County donated to our Agency NEW KIDS on the BLOCK puppets.  Many thanks to them for this WONDERFUL gift to our agency.  Below are pictures and if you click any of the pictures, you can go to The Arc of Pitt County's website.

 Even on a cool, cloudy, misty day, the fish were biting at Hill's Minnow Farm. We were there for the 16th Annual Hill's Bassmasters and Crappie Masters/The Arc of Rowan Fishing tournament. Thanks to eveyone who participated, sponsored, and helped to make this event a success. Fish were caught, food was cooked, new friends were made, and trophies were given
